Graduate Study in Mathematics
We offer three graduate degrees in the Department of Mathematics:
• Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT), which prepares students to become highly qualified mathematics teachers at secondary schools and two-year colleges.
• Master of Science (MS), which features two tracks: a pure track that prepares students for doctoral work in mathematics, and an applied track that equips students with mathematical tools applicable in industry.
• Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), which is designed for students who desire to do original research in pure mathematics and who desire to teach at the college/university level.
